Encouragement

Recognizing Achievements

Praise your child regularly for their achievements, particularly in a specific manner. Learning involves many small steps that deserve recognition. It is especially important to highlight independently written essays and offer words of encouragement in this context.

Proper help

Supporting Homework Completion

Homework is recorded in homework notebooks, and your child should show it to you daily. Make sure it’s completed thoroughly and neatly. From Monday to Thursday, children should spend 30 to 60 minutes on homework (depending on grade level). To ensure this, your child needs a dedicated desk in a quiet, distraction-free environment. Homework should be done independently, as this builds long-term self-reliance. If you do assist, mark it with an "H" so we are aware and can address any issues.

Progress

Fostering Interest in Writing and Math

Our primary goal is to ignite a desire in children to write and solve math problems. We aim for the joy of discovering rules to be immediate and meaningful. Each child progresses on their own path, and mistakes are not punished but analyzed as learning opportunities.

Daily routine

Regular Practice at Home

Create opportunities for your child to experience success in practice with you. Choose engaging children's books and worksheets like Mildenberger’s for mental math exercises. This practice is separate from homework time and you can engage with your child in activities like:

Reading
Discussing literature
Mental math
Expanding vocabulary
Regular mini breaks

Handling Extended Homework Time

If your child needs more time to finish due to a slower pace or concentration issues, allow a brief 20-30 minute break to refresh. If this is a regular need, please note the total time spent on homework in the notebook.

Preparing for school

Encouraging Independence

Allow your child to pack their school bag and check their pencil case daily with your presence. Ensure pencils are sharpened, and essentials like an eraser, sharpener, scissors, and glue are ready. Encourage your child to do these tasks themselves, while guiding them without doing it for them. This helps them develop independence step by step.
